Tapped Nominated for 2020 Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin Contest
Tapped Maple Syrup in Stevens Point has been nominated for the Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce’s "Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin" 2020 contest.
Tapped produces craft infused, barrel-aged, and pure maple syrups from sustainable Wisconsin forests. Tapped has been nominated for its Old Fashioned Cocktail Maple Syrup, which is made in collaboration with Copper & Pines Cocktail Company and features Bittercube bitters.
“We’re excited to be nominated for this contest, especially for our amazing Old Fashioned syrup,” stated Jeremy Solin, co-owner of Tapped. “This maple syrup has all the flavors you want in an old fashioned: orange infused maple syrup with cherry infused bitters. It makes a perfect old fashioned in seconds.”
Greg Wright, Executive Director of CREATE Portage County, nominated Tapped for the contest. Wright shared, “What could be more Wisconsin than an old fashioned? And, we love how this maple syrup is the collaboration of three Wisconsin small businesses!” Tapped produces the Old Fashioned Cocktail Maple Syrup in collaboration with Copper & Pines Cocktail Company in Stevens Point and Bittercube in Milwaukee. “Collaboration is a key focus of the Tapped approach, and this syrup is a testament to that,” according to Solin.
Tapped Maple Syrup is based in Stevens Point and makes syrup from their family sugarbush north of Antigo as well as sourcing maple sap and syrup from other family producers in the area. Tapped was also nominated in 2019 with their line of infused maple syrup and progressed to the final four round.
The first round of public voting for the contest is from September 14-20 at www.madeinwis.com. During this time, individuals can vote once per 24-hour period.
The popular vote from this round will determine the Top 16 products, out of 131 total nominations. The Top 16 will then be placed in a bracket-style tournament of public voting. In these rounds, products will compete in head-to-head match-ups, and whichever product receives the most votes moves to the next round.
